Shan Shui – My Mental Image
Through the works of landscape painting, I attempt to visualize the image of the space and circumstances for the creation of artwork. I try to imagine the spatial sceneries, and contemplate on the main structural layout to create the landscape of my inner world.
I have learned that the creation of artwork that conveys some sense of feeling does not depend on a specific method. It is not even necessary to decide on the appearance at the very beginning. What is essential in the creative process is how to carry on a dialogue with the work, to interweave some kind of scenic poetry and gently approach the inner world.
(Dis)order to reconciliation
I like to select objects (message) that are rebellious, chaotic or gloomy in nature. Through fragmented textual deconstruction and reconstruction, the final harmonious state is formulated. It is akin to the process that challenges people in modern times, to make selections among massive amounts of chaotic news and cultivate our own ability to analyze and integrate information.
Therefore, I observe the rules and perspective of people, regarding how they accept and analyze information during the communication process. Then, I practice breaking away from such existing frameworks, to formulate bold imagination and repetitive trials and errors in terms of interface presentation.
